Asus is embracing stock Android, for better.
Popular Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer Asus unveiled a brand new Flipkart exclusive device, the obnoxiously named Zenfone Max Pro M1 back in April of this year. The aluminium dressed and iPhone X design inspired smartphone features a 6in Full HD+ 18:9 IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with an Adreno 509 GPU along with 3 GB (32GB storage variant), 4 or 6GB of RAM (64GB storage variant). Of course, there is a dedicated MicroSD card slot present in the device that can handle cards of size up to 400GB. A fingerprint scanner and Asus face unlock is also onboard the Zenfone Max Pro M1.
Photography is handled by a dual camera setup available in two different configurations at the rear. One featuring a 13MP (f/2.2) + 5MP sensor combo assisted by a single LED flash and an 8MP shooter up front also assisted by a single LED flash that is employed in both the 3 and 4GB RAM models. The other model that is the 6GB RAM one features a 16MP + 5MP sensor combo assisted by a single LED flash and a 16MP shooter up front also assisted by a single LED flash. A massive 5000 mAh battery is onboard the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 to keep it ticking on. Coming to the connectivity side of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, it has you all covered with WI-FI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE with A2DP, GPS and more. Oh, and by the way, the device features the good old headphone jack we all love. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 runs on stock and pure Android 8.1 out of the box. Asus promises at least two years of major software updates.
Pricing and colour options
As for pricing, the 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB, and 6/64GB variants, Zenfone Max Pro M1 will cost around ₹11,000, ₹13,000 and ₹15,000 respectively. Colour options available are Black and Gray. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 is a Flipkart exclusive smartphone.
Design, why are most of the OEMs impersonating the Apple iPhone X?
Design wise, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 looks identical to the Zenfone Max M1. However, there is no denying the fact that Asus was only and only inspired by the “FruitPhone X” with the dead ringer being that vertical rear camera module design. Flip the Zenfone Max Pro M1 and thank god, it has minimal bezels top and bottom unlike the “FruitPhone X” which features the controversial notch at the top of the display.
