The Apple Event October 2018 unveiled the all-new iPad Pro yesterday and today we are here to share the official iPad Pro 2018 wallpapers in the original 3208 x 3208 pixels resolution. We have 8 QHD stock wallpapers which can be downloaded from below. Before you jump to the wallpapers directly, let’s take a detour into the iPad Pro 2018 specifications first.
The all-new iPad Pro 11” and 12.9” are here to revolutionize the tablet segment.
iPad Pro 2018 Specifications
Display, SoC and biometric authentication
The all-new iPad Pro for 2018 comes in two sizes. The smaller model features an 11″ display whereas the larger one is equipped with a 12.9” display. Both redesigned iPad Pro models employ Apple’s Liquid Retina Display which is Apple’s fancy way of marketing an edge to edge IPS LCD display first seen on the iPhone XR.
The all-new iPad Pro models are powered by Apple’s latest and greatest chipset and also that is specifically made for the new iPad Pros, the A12X Bionic SoC coupled to Apple’s powerful in-house GPU.
The new tablet devices from Apple comes equipped with a 64GB/256GB/512GB or an extra generous 1TB of internal flash storage capacity. The 1TB storage variant features 6GB of RAM whereas other variants feature 4GB of RAM (more than enough considering iOS is optimized for the hardware). Speaking of which, as expected on any Apple device, a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage is not present at all.
Now coming to biometrics, the iPad Pros for 2018 ditches the tried and tested TouchID of their predecessors and instead employs the reliable FaceID (2nd gen) biometric authentication system which is also featured on the new iPhone XS, XS Max, XR. As expected, the FaceID works by employing a combination of sensors located in the minimal front bezel of the new iPad Pro models such as the Dot Projector, Infrared Camera, Truedepth front camera and Flood Illuminator.
Edge to edge Liquid Retina display withOUT a notch
The all-new iPad Pro features a bezel-less display that goes edge to edge for a breathtaking, seamless and amazing user experience. Speaking of which, again, ithe sensors for the Face ID and the camera system are all located within the minimal bezel.
Finally, Apple has embraced USB-C standard but with a catch…
The all-new iPad Pros feature a USB-C port instead of the proprietary Lightning port that Apple has been sticking on to for years. The USB-C port allows the user to connect their iPad Pros to an external monitor, a DSLR and also even charge their smartphones with the help of reverse charging technology. The technology helps the new iPad Pros to act as a power bank for other devices, all thanks to the universal USB-C standard, something that Apple’s exclusive Lightning connectors are incapable of. Now, we can safely bet that the next iPhones will ditch lightning port for the more capable, accessible and universal USB-C port.
Sadly, the new iPad Pros for 2018 cannot connect to or transfer data to external devices over the USB-C port.
A new Apple Pencil
The new iPad Pros come bundled with a new Apple Pencil that now attaches to the tablet devices magnetically and also begins charging itself once attached. No more sticking the Apple Pencil into the Lightning port for charging. Oh, wait, Apple is done with their Lightning port on the iPad Pro lineup (we can’t believe because of its Apple) and possibly in the future on their upcoming iPhones and maybe the new 2019 iPad.
An excellent single camera system
Photography on the reimagined iPad Pros for 2018 is handled by a superb single camera setup at the rear featuring a wide-angle with larger pixels 12MP (f/1.8 lens) (OIS) sensor assisted by a Quad-LED True Tone (dual tone) flash. A 7MP camera (f/2.2 lens) is featured up front. The camera at the rear can record videos with a resolution of up to 4K @ 60fps. The front selfie shooter can record video with a resolution up to 1080p @ 60fps.
Battery, connectivity, and iOS
A 29.37Wh and 36.7 Wh batteries are onboard the all-new iPad Pro 11″ and 12.9″ respectively. Coming to the connectivity side, the tablet device has got you covered with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE with A2DP and EDR, GPS for navigation and location-based services and much more. The all-new Ipad Pro comes in a Cellular + Wifi and Non-cellular variants (wifi only). The cellular variant has dual SIM functionality meaning you can insert your regular Nano SIM + an embedded Apple e-SIM inside the iPad Pro allows users in supported countries to add their second number or plan.
Apple’s done with its proprietary Lightning port starting with the iPad pros for 2018. Speaking of which, the tablet devices are now equipped with the universal, tried, true and tested USB-C port for charging, iTunes and data transfers. With that said, both devices feature fast battery charging (18W) out of the box. As expected, a headphone jack is not onboard in the tablet device. The all-new iPad Pro runs on iOS 12.1 out of the box.
Pricing, availability, and colors.
Coming to the pricing and availability, The Wi-Fi only flavors of the 11” and 12.9” iPad Pro models will set you back $799 and $999 for the base model and the price will skyrocket to $1550 and $ 1750 for the fully loaded model respectively.
